Pool Programs

POOL SCHEDULE 

Register Your Membership
Complete and return a Membership Application Form or call the Recreation Centre at 
705 753 0160. 

Here is an overview of what you can expect when your return. 

Entering the Facility: 

  • All visits will be limited for capacity restrictions
    Your swim or workout will have to be booked in advance. 
  • You must wear a mask in the lobby, hallways, elevator and change rooms. 
  • Arrive at the Rec Centre at the time of your scheduled visit ready to swim/workout
  • The lobby will be limited to a max capacity of 3 people. If the lobby is full, you will have to wait outside. 
  • We ask that your perform a COVID-19 self-screening at home before attending the Recreation Centre. (Click here for a Self-Assessment questionnaire).
  • DO NOT attend or enter the facility if you have a new or worsening cough, fever, or feel generally unwell. 
  •  Screening questions will also be asked by the staff at the time of your visit.

In the Change Room:

  • Masks are required. 
  • Patrons using the change room are required to maintain a physical distancing of 2m. 
  • The family change room will not be available at this time. 
  • Arrive at the time of your scheduled visit ready to swim.
  • Pre-scheduled pool visits include 15 minutes following your swim to use the change room. Swimmers MUST vacate the change room after 15 minutes.
  • You will not be permitted to wait inside changing facilities for your swim to start. 
  • Showers will be reserved for swimmers to take a cleansing shower using soap and water prior to entering the pool, only. We ask that you shower at home following your swim. 
  • New lockers have been installed. A limited number of lockers will be available to store personal belongings. You must supply your own lock and remove all items and your lock at the end of your workout session. 
  • Curtained-off changing areas will not be available at this time.

In the Pool

  • Swimmers are required to maintain physical distancing 2 m while in the pool area. 
  • The sauna and whirlpool are not available at this time. 
  • Masks are not required in the pool, however, swimmers must enter and exit the facility and occupy the change rooms with a mask on. 
  • The following equipment is not available at this time: pool noodles, aqua jogging belts, foam dumbbells, flutter boards, regular dumbbells, toys, and mats. 
  • You may bring your own equipment to use while in the pool. 
  • Lifejackets will be available for use at the pool on a first-come-first-served basis. 
  • The use of goggles is encouraged while in the pool. Note that you must supply your own goggles and the lending or borrowing of goggles is strictly prohibited. 
  • Snorkels will not be permitted. 
  • The waterslide, Tarzan rope, and starting blocks are not available for use. 
  • Any children attending the facility must have adult supervision in the water with them at all times regardless of age and/or swimming ability. 
  • Parent & Tot Swim is reserved for parents/guardians with a child aged 3 years and under. 
  • Facility swim tests and all other posted rules are still in effect when using the pool. 

Book Your Swim General Admission

Due to capacity restrictions, all visits to the pool must be scheduled in advance. Scheduling a visit is an easy two-step process that can be completed over the phone.

For general admission to the pool, participants can purchase a 10-pass membership to the Recreation Centre. Facility memberships will be structured around a per-visit cost of $2.50. The membership will be valid for 10 visits to the Recreation Centre and will allow you to book the Pool or Fitness Centre. Memberships do not expire and can be renewed after 10 visits.

Memberships are non-transferable and cannot be shared amongst multiple people.

Membership Fees 

Adult, Senior and Student : $25.00
Age 75+ & 2 and under: Free

Once you have a membership, you will be able to book your visit based on availability.  the pool schedule will be posted online in advance. 

The schedule will be posted in one-week blocks (Monday – Saturday) and bookings will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Bookings for the following week will open on Friday.  Patrons must call the Recreation Centre and register with the receptionist to book their desired dates and time.

 Book Your Swim – Special Programing 

  • Swimmers wishing to attend Family Swim will be required to register in advance.
  • Parents/guardians must accompany children in the water at all times during family swim, regardless of age or swimming ability. 
  • A Family Swim Pass will be structured around a per-visit cost of $2.50 per person.
  • Family Swim Passes are valid for one visit to the Recreation Centre and must be paid at the time of booking. 
  • Contact information must be provided for all participants at the time of booking.  If a participant already holds a Membership, they will not be required to pay for themselves, however, one visit will be deducted and other members attending the swim will be required to pay an entry fee. 
  • The wading pool will have a maximum capacity of 5 swimmers at any time and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cancellation Policy
Do not attend or enter the Recreation Centre if you are feeling unwell. Please call or email to inform us of your cancellation. Failure to notify staff of your cancellation prior to your scheduled time will result in a visit being deducted from your membership. Two consecutive no-shows will result in a cancellation of your facility membership. 

Swimming Lessons
Swimming lessons are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The lobby will be limited to a max capacity of 3 people. If the lobby is full, you will be required to wait outside.

  • If you have a new or worsening cough, fever, or feel generally unwell, do not attend or enter the facility.
  • COVID-19 screening questions will also be asked by staff at the time of your visit

In the Change Room:

  • Masks are required. 
  • Gym users will only be permitted access to the change rooms during their booked time (i.e. gym booking of 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. includes your check-in time and change room access.) 
  • Patrons making use of the change room are required to maintain a physical distancing of 2m. 
  • New lockers have been installed. A limited number of lockers will be available to store personal belongings. You must supply your own lock and remove all items and your lock at the end of your workout session. Locks left at the end of the day will be cut off by maintenance staff. 
  • Curtained-off changing areas and showers will not be available.

In the Fitness Centre: 

  • You may remove your mask in the gym as long as you are able to maintain a 2m distance from others. 
  • Do not move or relocate gym equipment. 
  • All workouts must be completed inside designated stations. 
  • The use of personal equipment in the gym is prohibited. 
  • Personal belongings must be stored in the change rooms.
  • For safety reasons, water bottles need to be pre-filled and brought from home. 
  • You are required to disinfect equipment prior to and following use. Sanitization stations are set up around the gym. 
  • Workout circuits are prohibited at this time. 
  • “Buddy workouts” and “bench spotters” are limited to members of your household/immediate circle. 
  • Free weights and loose equipment must be returned to racks following use to allow staff to ensure that all equipment surfaces are disinfected properly. 
  • Be courteous and limit workout time at each station to no more than 30 minutes (including cardio machines, lifting stations, and cable machines.)
